Our client is the fully family owned French company Oxylis. The company was founded in 2000 and is made out of a group of more than 200 small and medium sized companies providing primarily homecare services in France and in French speaking oversea territories. The group of companies, with more than 5,500 HCPs and about 2,000 non healthcare employees, take care of more than 500,000 patients per year, most of them in the field of chronical respiratory diseases, intensive and acute care at home. The total turnover of our client, the second largest homecare provider in France and market leader in the French speaking oversea territories reached €1,200m in 2022. Oxylis wants to continue its diversification in France as well as to expand in other European countries with a strong priority on gaining access to and developing the German market by organic growth. We are now seeking exclusively an experienced, well connected, pragmatic, visionary and entrepreneurial thinking General Manager to lead the establishment and growth of the future subsidiary in the German homecare market.

This is a unique opportunity to start-up a company, shape the future of healthcare in Germany and be part of a team dedicated to improving the lives of patients and their families. Oxylis is providing expertise when necessary, financial support for ambitious projects and ensure that the best practices are shared with others. As the General Manager of Oxylis’ subsidiary in Germany, you will be responsible for founding and developing a new homecare business from the ground up. You will have the autonomy and resources to build the subsidiary organically. This entrepreneurial role requires a hands-on business development and sales professional as well as a strategic leader who can navigate the complex healthcare landscape in the German homecare market, establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, and drive business growth while upholding the highest standards of care.

The position’s main responsibilities include, without being limited to, the following:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the subsidiary's growth in the German healthcare market
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth
  • Lead the development of short-term and long-term business plans to achieve corporate objectives

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to understand the competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and trends in the German healthcare sector and keep the respective knowledge up to date
  • Identify and evaluate potential partners, competitors, and acquisition targets

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the subsidiary's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability
  • Monitor key financial performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to achieve financial goals

Operational Excellence:

  • Build and oversee the operational infrastructure of the subsidiary, including staffing, facilities, and technology
  • Implement best practices in healthcare service delivery, quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory standards

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, healthcare providers, insurers, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Advocate for the subsidiary's interests and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of professionals to execute the subsidiary's business plan
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the subsidiary's operations and reputation
  • Implement effective risk management and compliance programs

YOUR EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATION FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE

Ideally, the position requires a successfully completed university degree, preferably in business administration or natural sciences or an alternative educational background plus strong relevant professional experience.

We believe, that the successful job holder should have the following capabilities:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful leadership in the homecare industry, with at least 10+ years of experience. Strong knowledge of the German healthcare market, market access and reimbursement in the field of homecare services. Experience in start-up management is highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership skills to recruit, inspire and guide the team to achieve organizational goals
  • Passion for sales, business development and networking
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, self-starter, making decisions quickly and autonomously
  • Exceptional strategic planning and execution skills
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to convey ideas clearly, listen to the team and stakeholders, and foster an open and transparent communication within the organization
  • Problem solving attitude and adaptabiliy to a changing environment
  • Ability to travel as needed within Germany and internationally
  • Excellent language skills in German and English are required, French would be a plus
